About Tower Cranes

The tower crane works even on tight construction sites, situated at the side or center of the structure. As the building rises, the tower crane grows by hoisting itself from floor to floor using built-in hydraulic jacks. Advantage of the tower: Its horizontal boom with sliding trolley can place a load anywhere on the construction floor, but crawlers, working from street level, can only set a load at the edge of the floor. A tower crane’s height is unlimited, versus about 35 stories for a crawler. When the job is over, the tower crane is disassembled and parts are lowered to the ground.
